Ok so here is my opinion on club exclusive episodes. I have the strongest opinion on this of anyone I know of. I think that club exclusive episodes need to stop. Reason 1 my opinion they are generally not up to the writing standard that aio has (I am not saying that all club episodes are not up to that standard) 2. We are coming up on 1000 episode and there 100 club episodes (at the moment) that is more than 1 10th of aio that can not be used for character development that is 1 10th of aio that can’t be used to continue sagas/arcs. And I think there are 3 ways to fix this 1 stop club exclusive episodes entirely. 2 Use only characters that are not in main stream odyssey like Renee like what they did for the animated series. 3 only do episodes that take place outside of Odyssey. They could do 2 and 3 together. Personally I think 1 is the best option if they do that they should go back to 12 episode albums.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It is crazy to think that over 1/10 of all episodes of Adventures in Odyssey are Club exclusives.
I agree that the main problem with the Club exclusive episodes is that they cannot further develop characters and mainstream storylines there, which means that there are only twelve episodes a year to do that in rather than the previous twenty-four. I think this is probably one of the main reasons why a lot of people don’t like “new Odyssey” as much as the episodes from ~10 or more years ago.

The way to solve the Club is to release the episode after the mainstream albums are on the radio. Then when you would hear reruns, you would hear some club episodes.

That’s an interesting idea!

Yep and club sales would still not tank because you can download episodes in the app, you get the magazine, you get access to episodes months before, as well as exclusive videos and activities.

Yep, they’d have to be smart about it but it could definitely work.

The Club is not really a “Club” it is not an exclusive toxic we’re better than you show. Does no one have parent who throw and stay at parties?

I’m sorry, I don’t know what you mean about the parties.

In the podcast you were talking about how no parents attend their kid birthday parties.

If it seemed like I meant that that’s strange. Because obviously it is not true that no parents attend their kids’ birthday parties. In fact, it’s usually the parents that organise their kids’ birthday parties.
I might have said that most parents wouldn’t be as likely to attend their kids’ friends’ birthday parties.

Weird thing I was thinking of. Why does focus force you to downland via an app. (Yes I know there are ways to get Android on PC but lets not get too technical.) Like what if the child is too young to have a phone or the Parents are wait until 8th or wait until high school to give their kids a phone. Especially when Focus interviews people on the daily broadcast and inevitably a person will talk about screen time and Gen Z being on their phone. Or a 30-day phone free life etc. It just does not make that much sense why we cannot download from PC/Mac (You can on Chrome OS though 😎)

Well, I have downloaded the m4a files from the website before—it’s just not really an official feature. The reason it has to be in the app is they don’t want you to download all the files and then just stop paying for the Club since you have all the episodes forever now.

I know but they cold make the files only work with a PC/Mac/Linux app. KInd of like spotify. (Never used Spotify just know thats how it works) Then only people like Michael LaFaver and you could get access to the ‘m4a files. So revenue would not be lost.
